Very rare CARDINAL typewriter. The Cardinal typewriter was invented in 1914, but did not get manufactured until 1921 because of WW1. That's why it was too late to the marked and no success. Only about 3,000 of these machines were manufactured. This one has serial number 972 (!). Which dates it to approx 1921. Manufactured by the watch and clock factory Furtwänger Söhne in Baden, Germany. The rounded back side is especially of aesthetic interest to any collector of antique typewriters.

The machine seems in good mechanical condition, but functionality is not tested. A real eye-catcher and conversational piece. An elegant and rare office antique that is a good addition to any serious collection.
